The benefits of improving the UI and UX in interactive products with display

We use screen-based technological products to learn, work, have fun and try to be productive. So what is the basis for the success of the applications that open up this world to us and what criteria do we follow when choosing to use them?

In this era of learning, working, having fun and being productive, the window that opens to the world while doing these things is the screens of the technological devices in our hands. In the digital age we live in, the success of these technological devices is based on the successful partnership of two different business units; user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).

We often witness these two concepts being used interchangeably in general terms. UI and UX, which are two different disciplines deeply integrated within each other, become flawless and effective for users when they become compatible with each other and as flawless as possible.

Understanding what UI and UX are

Simply put, the user interface (UI) is defined as the what and how of what a user sees and interacts with on a mobile phone, tablet, smartwatch, and – I guess it’s safe to say that smart glasses are included in this – in their hand.

UI includes all the visual and interactive elements of a digitally presented product. Buttons, icons, symbols, typographic elements, color palettes, and the overall structure of the application are the main units I can list. A well-thought-out and ultimately well-designed user interface is expected to look good in terms of aesthetics, is consistent, and provides clear and uncomplicated cues while guiding the user to do what they want to do. In short, the user interface is the tangible and visible representation of a digital product.

However, user experience (UX) design is related to why and feeling. It can be defined as the holistic experience of the user from the first thing they perceive when interacting with the device in their hand to the result they achieve.

User experience is a broad field of study that focuses on providing satisfaction and convenience to the user while achieving their emotions and goals throughout their journey. In short, it is linked to not only making a product usable but also making it meaningful and enjoyable to use.

One can’t exist without the other: The relationship between UI and UX based on utility

The scenario is simple: a difficult and dysfunctional user experience is at the top of the list of possible disaster scenarios for a startup whose future and revenue model depend on screen devices.

No matter how good the interface of the application is, providing a complex user experience with multi-layered and complicated details for simple operations will create boredom in users. Remember that everyone is trying to cope with enough problems in their lives and almost no one needs a new problem to solve. If it’s not simple, then next; the equation is simple.

UI can be defined as the primary tool through which UX is communicated to the user. Therefore, the success of digital products no longer only requires a great interface, but also meticulously prepared comprehensive interface designs with the aim of supporting, improving and simplifying the user experience. This means that every text, every link, every icon and even every color to be included in an application should be thought over carefully, considering the user’s journey within the application.

User satisfaction makes business grow: The tangible impact of UI and UX

Investing in UX and UI should not be seen as a mere aesthetic issue, but rather as a strategic decision that has a return on investment for the business. UI and UX investment has far-reaching benefits, and can be measured with various key performance indicators (KPIs).

An intuitive and enjoyable interface means happier users. The main reason for this is that people can navigate an application and accomplish the tasks they want to do in a short time without encountering any problems. This positive experience increases the user’s level of satisfaction and leads to a willingness to spend more time with the product, explore existing and newly introduced features, and integrate the product more into their daily lives. I think this is one of the main goals of app developers.

When it comes to e-commerce, SaaS, and any business that deals with digital assets, an easy-to-use interface is one of the most important criteria affecting conversion rates. Easy cart creation, smooth payment process, clear and solution-providing informative messages and a trustworthy interface will reduce the rate of shopping cart abandonment.

A well-designed interface changes how the brand is perceived and positively changes how the entire brand is perceived. If i was to make a very general definition, the first things we look for in an app are real interest in the need and reliability and professionalism in second place. A well-designed interface creates trust and this structure feeds the sense of loyalty to the brand, supporting ordinary users to become brand ambassadors.

Making UI and UX experience better

Improving user experience is an ongoing process that involves constantly researching, analyzing, updating design with the data from this research, and testing it.

From where i stand now, it seems that the world is saturated with digital products and providing a good user experience is no longer defined as a luxury, it is at the top of the list of basic requirements for success.

Moving forward by accepting the inseparable nature of UI and UX is the keyword that will make your job easier, and a design that focuses on the user is now the approach focused on creating products that are not only attractive but also more valuable to users…
